2012 Policy Agenda
Our VEEU-AFT Policy Agenda was developed through a process driven by providers from each of Vermont’s counties. The statewide Organizing
Committee created a survey to use broadly in the field to assist providers in identifying key issues, voicing their positions on them, and listing out what mattered most. The survey was then taken by early educators over the phone, by key contacts in centers, at network meetings and local training's, and over the web. This process has happened all over the state over the last 2+years
We created our policy agenda in a way that didn’t box us in. With the session just beginning, we can’t be 100% certain of what legislation is coming that will affect our work, and we can’t with any real certainty know what the proposed budget cuts will look like. Our 2012 Policy Agenda will serve as the framework for how we decide what to support and what to bills to work against as the legislation unfolds over the coming months.
If you're interested in sitting on our union’s ACT 62 sub-group and or any other topic of interest in shaping our policy agenda moving forward, use the contact form here: and pick 'legislative issues' as your category:
“If we want to have a say we need to stand together and work for it.”
